About MSCC

Monklands Sporting Car Club was founded in 1991, and the first hillclimb at Forrestburn was Sunday July 4th 1993.

Forrestburn was the first purpose built speed hillclimb track in the UK since Brooklands in 1907. It was planned in the early 1990s as the 1st phase of a larger motorsport complex including international and club level circuits, with easy access from the M8 motorway. The track was designed to merge with the landscape of the surrounding area and look "as if it's always been there".

With its dramatic scenery, remoteness from centres of population, and halfway between Edinburgh and Glasgow it is an ideal location for a Motorsport complex.

The hillclimb weekends form part of the Scottish Hillclimb Championship, Lowland Speed Championship, and XBC Cross Border Championship, and we run 3 of these weekends over the Summer.

As well as the hillclimbs, we run track days throughout the Summer. Forrestburn being the only hillclimb venue in Scotland to do so. Why not bring along your own car and give it a try?

We run Autotests in conjunction with the Scottish Sporting Car Club, Production Car Trials, and Young Drivers Days.

We also play host to other events too such as Classic Car Rallies, Le Jog, The Tartan Classic and Flying Scotsman.

There really is something for all age groups, so check out our calendar of events here, and come along to support some local Motorsport, or better still give it a try.

Why join monklands sporting car club?

Monklands Sporting Car Club has a reputation for its family friendly, accessible and well-run motorsport events.  Formed in 1990, the club is run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts.  MSCC offers ‘grassroots’ motor sport events to get everyone involved, whatever your age, your four wheeled interest or budget.

The club is one of the biggest in Scotland, and whilst a large number of members are classic car enthusiasts, the club stresses that it is for all car enthusiasts. At any club event, it is not uncommon to see pre-war MG’s, later Midgets and Triumphs battling against more modem and everyday vehicles such as Vauxhall Corsas and Ford Fiestas.
